An Altoona woman, identified as 35 year old Marjorie Houck is behind bars today after she was accused of injuring a child four years ago. Houck was arraigned yesterday on felony charges of endangering the welfare of children, among various other charges. The charges stem from an incident in 2020 when police, assisted by Blair County Children, Youth and Families, visited a home on the 700 block of Third Avenue, after a 4-month-old boy suffered a fractured skull. Both Houck and the child’s father told authorities that a clock had fallen on the child’s head, however a doctor told police the child had multiple injuries, including retinal hemorrhages, swelling on the left side of his face, among other bodily injuries. Later, another child was removed from the home. Charges against Houck were filed earlier this week. Unable to post bail she was remanded to the Blair County Prison. Her preliminary hearing is slated for January 24th.
