An SCI Somerset inmate is to face trial this June for beating and killing a corrections officer in 2018. He’s 28 year old Paul Kendrick, who allegedly assaulted Sgt. Mark Baserman while he was on duty. Kendrick reportedly beat the officer over a towel that was confiscated from his cell. Several days after the beating, Baserman died from his injuries. At the time of the beating, Kendrick was already facing a life sentence on separate first-degree charges. The latest charges Kendrick is facing include criminal homicide and aggravated assault.
