Penn State University has proposed budget cuts for the 2025-26 school year to the tune of $94 million. Currently the university is looking to cut $11 million from the campus budget and $54 million from the budget across the 23 Commonwealth Campuses. University officials also plan to slash another $29 million across all administrative and student support units. Over the next 18 months, university leaders will decide which units will be affected and to what degree. In a statement released earlier this week, university officials noted the proposed plan is meant to balance the budget in light of the fact that expenses have been exceeding revenues in the face of financial challenges. Budgets for fiscal 2026 are set to go before the Board of Trustees in July.
