A Clearfield County woman has filed a lawsuit against a Pa. State Trooper for unlawful arrest. The plaintiff is Lana Hubler-Thompson who is the owner of a horse sanctuary in Morrisdale. Thompson alleges in the suit that last June she had picked up some hay and was driving to her sanctuary on a foggy night when she was pulled over by State Police Officer Austin Woolcock. He allegedly pulled her over because her headlight was out and she was driving slowly. Thompson, stated in the lawsuit, that the headlight was not out, and she was driving slowly because of the fog. The lawsuit contends the officer then asked her to get out of her truck and when she did, he accused her of being under the influence of meth. He then reportedly handcuffed and detained her without explanation. The truck was searched and no drugs were found. The lawsuit contends that at no time has Thompson ever taken illicit drugs of any kind. Thompson is asking for a trial by jury and to be awarded at least $150,000 in damages. No charges were ever filed in this case.
