Officials at the Pittsburgh Zoo have announced the recent hatching of a Western Crowned pigeon. The zoo says that this variety of pigeon is a vulnerable species and that this chick is one of only ten that have recently hatched worldwide. The Pittsburgh Zoo is one of only two facilities to see the hatching of a Western Crowned pigeon in the last twelve months.
