Prisoners File Federal Class Action Suit to End Solitary Confinement

Six Pennsylvania prisoners have filed a federal class action lawsuit to end the practice of long-term solitary confinement. Lawyers for the inmates, who are housed at different state prisons, say they’re asking for compensation and punitive damages for violation of their Constitutional rights. The plaintiffs say prisoners who are in indefinite solitary confinement face more mental health struggles and attempt suicide many times.
