Electronic driver’s licenses could be coming to Pennsylvania. Representative Dan Miller of Mt. Lebanon is sponsoring the bill that would authorize PennDOT to develop an app to create licenses digitally. The so-called mobile digital license, or mDL, would only be used as an alternate ID and hard-copy licenses would still be required to drive. About a dozen other states have electronic licenses.
