Pennsylvania’s agriculture secretary says the wine and grape industry is thriving in the commonwealth. The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture released findings from its study last year that show grape production grew in that time period to about 970 tons. Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding says the industry supports nearly 11-thousand jobs in the state and visitors to state wineries generate 747-million-dollars in tourism revenue every year. Pennsylvania ranks fourth in the country in wine production. That’s up from the number five spot five years ago.
