House Speaker Wants to Expand Early In-Person Voting, Registration

Pennsylvania House Speaker Joanna McClinton wants to expand early voting. She has introduced a bill to allow voters to make their selections up to two weeks before election day. The proposal would also let residents register to vote when they show up at the polls. McClinton, a Democrat, says the steps would modernize the state’s voting system and improve security. Republicans who oppose the idea say it would make the process more complicated for county elections officials.
