A 45 year old Clearfield man who was convicted in January of assaulting a 16 month old child was sentenced yesterday. Jeremy Sipe was sentenced to serve a total of 33 months to seven years. The charges against him were as a result of an incident that occurred at a home in Goshen Township in July of 2022. State police were contacted after a little boy was taken to Penn Highlands for allegedly falling over a baby gate. However a later report from UPMC Children’s Hospitals showed the baby had bruises on his face, along his left temple, and swelling of his lips, all indicating physical child abuse. Sipe was ordered to have no contact with the victim.
