An Ashville man is facing charges today following an investigation into accusations he chocked a woman, and repeatedly assaulted her. Police have identified him as 46 year old Frederick Buck. Reportedly authorities were contacted last week to conduct a welfare check at a home along Grand Prix Drive in Blair County after being told of an alleged domestic altercation between the woman and Buck. Police say the woman told them she had been repeatedly assaulted by Buck during a number of verbal arguments. Authorities say the victim also told them of an incident in which Buck assaulted her while she held a two year old in her arms, causing her to drop the child and strike its head on a bed. Buck was arraigned on Friday on charges of felony strangulation, child endangerment and simple assault. He has since posted bond.
