A 33 year old Everett woman has been sentenced to serve 40-80 years in state prison after she pled guilty to charges of third-degree murder in the death of a 3 year old boy. Chelsea Cooley was charged in June of 2022 into the death of her then boyfriend’s 3-year-old child. During the investigation, state police learned Cooley had shoved wet wipes down the throat of the child. Authorities say the child was hospitalized and later died of manual strangulation and asphyxiation. An autopsy revealed the boy had signs of abuse.
