A 22 year old Punxsutawney man is facing charges after he reportedly threw rocks at numerous businesses in Groundhog Plaza causing thousands of dollars’ worth of damages. Dillon Pequeen was arrested on April 1st after Punxsutawney Borough Police were called to investigate a man throwing objects at vehicles in a Burger King parking lot. When authorities approached Pequeen they reportedly noted he smelled of alcohol, was swaying back and forth, and had slurred speech. The damage caused by his actions has been estimated to be anywhere from 7-10 thousand dollars. Pequeen is facing numerous charges including institutional vandalism to an educational facility, public drunkenness and criminal mischief. He has been placed in the Jefferson County Prison in lieu of bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 23rd.
