A joint hearing on the public health challenges of legalizing marijuana is scheduled for this week at the state capitol. The House Health and Liquor Control committees have scheduled a meeting Thursday to examine the implications of legalizing marijuana for adult recreational use and the challenges that would bring. A legalization bill, House Bill 2210, was introduced in the state House earlier this month. A companion bill, Senate Bill 846, was introduced in the state Senate last summer. Governor Josh Shapiro has called on the General Assembly to move to legalize adult use marijuana.
