A Somerset man is facing felony charges today after police say he led them on a chase, not once, but twice.   On April 27th, 22 year Brandon Bartels led police on a chase which began after authorities watched Bartels cross over a double yellow line while traveling South on State Route 985. Officers were unsuccessful in apprehending him at that time.  The following day police spotted him again, this time on State Route 601 leading them on yet another chase. At one point, authorities note, Bartels hit speeds of 102 miles per hour. During the pursuit police were able to block the road to the point where Bartels had no way out.  Before Bartels exited his car, he allegedly pointed a gun at officers.  He was asked to drop the weapon, which he then placed on his lap. Bartels is facing numerous felony counts, including aggravated assault, charges of fleeing or attempting to elude officers and other related offenses. He is currently in the Somerset County Prison after being denied bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 15th.
