The state is setting aside nearly seven-million-dollars for community improvement projects that will support 25 counties in the Commonwealth. Governor Shapiro and other state leaders announced the move yesterday while visiting Bedford County. It’s part of the Keystone Communities Program which will help communities like Bedford, with things like new sidewalks and street lights. Bedford County will receive slightly more than 85 thousand dollars for various projects. A total of 49 projects thru-out the state, will receive funding. The stop in Bedford was part of Shapiro’s weeklong “Great American Getaway” RV tour, meant to highlight Pennsylvania’s new tourism brand, which promotes main streets, small businesses and towns like Bedford, while encouraging “millions within a few hours drive” to visit the area.
