Pennsylvania’s Women, Infants, and Children nutrition program is celebrating 50 years in existence. Government officials, advocates, and initiative directors held an anniversary celebration at the state Capitol yesterday. Roughly 200-thousand Pennsylvania families use WIC each month to help cover the cost of healthy food, get nutrition education, and receive breastfeeding support. Some of the newest resources WIC has to offer are their mobile units that help women have access to the program in the communities where they live.
