psp-2

The Pennsylvania State Police says crashes were up, but DUIs were down over the Memorial Day Weekend. Troopers say six people died and 181 others were hurt in 756 crashes across the commonwealth over the holiday weekend. That’s a 16 percent jump in crashes from last year. But drunk driving arrests were down 15 percent this year. The State Police say 467 people were arrested for DUI over the long weekend. Troopers also issued fewer speeding tickets. But those are just the numbers from the State Police. Local arrest numbers are not included in the report.
