A Somerset man is behind bars today after he allegedly assaulted a Somerset Borough Police officer who questioned him about throwing rocks at passing cars.  Arrested was 18 year old Skyllar Beck, who, on June 5th was throwing rocks at both cars and property. When police located Beck on Main Street in Somerset, Beck told them he didn’t care that he was throwing rocks and even threatened to throw them at officers. When police attempted to handcuff Beck he reportedly became violent and struck one of the officers in the side of the head.  The officer suffered multiple injuries in the assault. Beck was arraigned yesterday on charges of felony aggravated assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He is currently in the Somerset County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
