In Somerset County a crossbow killing is under investigation. State Police were called to a residence on Friday night after 32 year old Travis Shearer called them and hysterically told authorities that he needed help because his brother, identified as Eric Miller, attacked him, and he shot his brother with a crossbow in self-defense.  The shooting reportedly occurred outside the home of Shearer.   However according to surveillance footage from ring cameras, police say it appeared as though Miller was not actively pursuing Shearer and that Shearer could have walked into the safety of his home anytime. Shearer is currently in the Somerset County Jail on criminal homicide charges and was denied bail. His preliminary hearing is slated for June 25th.
