A 25 year old unidentified Patton man was rushed to UPMC Altoona on Wednesday night, after the motorcycle he was riding, drifted into the median and hit a guide wire on I-99. Police say the accident happened in Freedom Township when the driver was heading north. The driver was reportedly thrown from the bike and was able to crawl across both lanes to a grassy area. The motorcycle’s gas tank was punctured spilling gas on the roadway. Another vehicle traveling north hit the bike, causing an explosion. Fortunately the driver of that vehicle, along with three underage passengers were not injured. An investigation is underway.
