The teenage pilot killed in a plane crash last week will be remembered tomorrow. A vigil will be held in Hughesville for 17-year-old Maisie Bitler of Williamsport. Bitler, a recent high school graduate, died when her plane went down in a wooded area near Lock Haven on July Fourth. The vigil will take place at Hughesville Junior Senior High School starting at eight p.m. Bitler was a member of the Civil Air Patrol in Lock Haven and is remembered for her love of flying. In the meantime, the FAA has identified, and is speaking with two women who reportedly witnessed the crash. Authorities say the witnesses saw the plane attempting to gain altitude prior to its going down. The FAA has called the crash accidental, but its cause is still unknown.
