A Clearfield County man has pled guilty in court to rape and assault of an 8-year old girl. 59 year old Byron Carter of Beccaria was sentenced earlier this week to serve 7-20 years in state prison for the sexual assault of a child that occurred in May of last year. Once released, Carter will have to register with authorities under Megan’s Law. Reportedly, the assault occurred at a camper on Pine Run Road in Clearfield County, while Carter was babysitting the girl and her friend.
