Officials in Butler Township say their police department made it clear to federal officials that they could not secure the AGR building. The rooftop of the facility is the location where gunman Thomas Crooks opened fire on Donald Trump in an assassination attempt on Saturday. Butler Township Manager Tom Knights says the police department sent messages to the Secret Service two days before the rally, letting them know that they did not have the manpower to cover more than traffic control. KDKA-TV cites sources who say there were two local SWAT officers inside the building at the AGR complex, but it is not clear which agency they work for.
