Visitors of the spillway swim beach along the Youghiogheny River in Somerset County are being urged to stay away from the water in that area, as recent algae blooms have tested positive for toxins. Officials with the Army Corps of Engineers began testing the water since the algae was spotted on the weekend of July 27th. The area has since been closed off until further notice. The dry and warm weather has made it possible for algae to bloom. The water will continue to be tested. More updates are expected.
