A 27-year-old Altoona man is behind bars after a young child was seen running around the parking lot of the Sheetz Store along East Plank Road, covered in “filth and feces”. Arrested was Gavin Lynch, who was taken into custody Sunday night, after authorities received a call of a child in a “state of distress.” Reports indicate that when police arrived on the scene, Lynch appeared to be intoxicated. Lynch has been charged with child endangerment, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He is currently in the Blair County Prison. Bail has been set at $40,000.
