Pennsylvania’s governor used his convention time to talk about schools, but not school choice. Governor Josh Shapiro spoke at last night’s Democratic National Convention. He talked about the freedoms that this country loves, including freedom found through education. But he talked entirely about traditional public schools. Shapiro was silent about the school choice programs he supports here in Pennsylvania. It’s not surprising, nationally, the Democratic Party is opposed to school choice. Shapiro’s speech went on for about 6 minutes in front of a cheering crowd. In a speech that was often fiery he called Democrats the party of real freedom.
