A large solar farm is to be built in Clearfield County, which will subsequently provide power to 75,000 homes in New York. Mineral Basin Solar will build the farm on reclaimed mine land, in Girard and Goshen Townships, with over 2,000 acres being used to create what has been described as the largest solar farm in the state. According to Mineral Basin Solar, the company will provide millions in tax revenue, and will donate $200,000 for community funds. The project is expected to be operational in the second half of 2026.
