Clemens Food Group, which bought Kunzler Meats back in May, has announced they are closing their Lancaster plant effective December 7th, affecting nearly 200 employees. The company said this date coincides with the end of production needs for all remaining contracted customers. Clemens added that they’ve already had a conversation with an interested buyer. According to a company representative, the Tyrone plant will remain in operation, and continue production as normal. Finally, the company noted that Kunzler-branded products will continue to be produced, and will remain available to customers and retailers.
