A recent homicide case in Johnstown is now closed after the suspect was found dead of an apparent suicide in his cell at the Cambria County Prison. Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said 57-year-old Douglas Yonker was found unresponsive in his cell on Wednesday afternoon. He reportedly was found hanging in his cell, during a routine check by prison staff. Last month, Yonker was arrested and charged, following the shooting death of his girlfriend, 40-year-old Lenamarie Azzoli. The shooting occurred at a home along K Street in Johnstown. According to a statement from the office of the Cambria County District Attorney’s Office, due to Yonkers unforeseen death, the case is now closed.
