A 27-year-old former Nanty Glo resident was honored last week when a bridge was renamed to memorialize him. Three years ago, police officer Matthew Krupa was killed in a car accident, while driving to work, on only his second day on the job as a police officer with the North East Independent School District in San Antonio Texas. The bridge carries U.S. Route 22 over the tributary of Hinckston Run in Jackson Township. Reportedly, Krupa had always wanted to become a police officer.
