A Huntingdon County woman and her husband have been charged with the drowning death of their young daughter last year. State police have charged 52-year-old Kathleen Kuhns-Stains and 55-year-old Gregory Stains with felony child endangerment and involuntary manslaughter. Last September police say while the woman was asleep on the couch, possibly high on marijuana, her two year old daughter was found unresponsive in the pool at the home located on Covered Bridge Road in Cassville, Cromwell Township. Authorities say, later at the hospital, blood was drawn and found marijuana and high ammonia levels in her system. State police say Children and Youth Services had been called to the home several times in the months leading up to the child’s drowning. Kuhns-Stains is being held in the Huntingdon County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail. Her husband Gregory Stains is free on $250,000 unsecured bail.
