A fugitive, accused of shooting and killing a Johnstown man last June, was sentenced 16-36 years in prison.  Philadelphia native, 43-year-old Dirk Jones, was sentenced yesterday for the shooting death of 21-year-old Caleb Beppler, outside the Liquid Currency Bar in Johnstown’s Cambria City section, following an alleged altercation.  After the shooting, Jones fled the state but was later apprehended in New Jersey.  During the sentencing, Jones reportedly admitted to the killing and apologized to members of Beppler’s family who were in attendance.  In August, Jones agreed to a plea deal for third-degree murder.
