State police in Ebensburg are looking for a male suspect involved in several robberies that occurred on Tuesday in the Portage area. Police say around 7:30 p.m. authorities were dispatched to the Family Dollar located along Portage Street, for reports of a robbery-in-progress. When authorities arrived, the suspect had fled the scene. The suspect reportedly entered the business demanding cash, and made a motion to employees that he had a gun. The suspect allegedly stole $270. Later, authorities were dispatched to the Portage Vapor and Cigar store along Main Street after the same man attempted to hold up an employee. Police say the employee refused his demands and attempted to obtain a firearm when the suspect left the scene in a red Fiat. Earlier, this same suspect also broke into Lucky Laundry, located along Munster Road and damaged multiple PA Skill machines.
