Duncansville Murder Suspect Appears in Court

jenkins

A Duncansville murder suspect was in court yesterday for the first time after he admitted to killing his neighbor.  During the hearing some of the charges against 51-year old David Jenkins were dropped, including strangulation and tampering with evidence.  The judge determined there was not enough evidence to substantiate the two counts.  Earlier this month, Jenkins shot and killed his neighbor 60-year-old Zachary Smola, claiming Smola molested he and his sister when they were young.  Reportedly Jenkins attorney, Thomas Dickey said their defense will focus on Jenkins’ state of mind based on those abuse allegations.  An investigation into those allegations is underway.  Jenkin’s formal arraignment is scheduled for November 20th.
