A Bedford County man was charged with DUI yesterday after he crashed his SUV into two horses, that were being ridden by two young girls on October 18th. Charged was 42-year old Ralph Shippey who was driving on Orchard Hollow Road in Harrison Township, Bedford County when he hit one of the horses from behind, throwing a 9-year-old girl into a ditch. That caused the horse to hit the horse in front of it, throwing a 12-year year old girl to the side of the road. Both girls were able to walk away with minor injuries, and neither horse had serious injuries. Shippy was taken into custody, and has been charged with recklessly endangering another person and DUI.
