Over 600 acres in Huntingdon County is now under conservation easement and will go towards protecting the forests, streams and wildlife in that area. According to the Natural Lands and ClearWater Conservancy, the 667-acre Ridge Farm, will now be preserved. The land is located in Jackson and Miller Townships between Rothrock State Forest and Penn State’s Experimental Forest. The dense forest provides habitats for both wildlife and songbirds. It also helps to filter rainwater before it flows into the Standing Stone Creek and the Geiser Run Tributary.
