Luigi Mangione is facing murder and terrorism charges in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Mangione is accused of gunning down Thompson on a Manhattan street earlier this month. The Manhattan District Attorney’s office announced yesterday that Mangione is charged with one count of first-degree murder in furtherance of terrorism, and two counts of second-degree murder, including one as an act of terrorism. The 26-year-old Mangione, who is in custody at SCI in Huntingdon, faces life in prison if convicted. In the meantime Mangione is scheduled for a preliminary hearing tomorrow morning at 8:30 at the Blair County Courthouse, on charges the Altoona Police filed after taking him into custody last Monday at McDonalds on Plank Road. According to FOX News there are reports Mangione will not fight extradition during tomorrow’s hearing. If that ends up being the case, he could be back in New York tomorrow.
