A piece of legislation supported by McKees Rocks native Damar Hamlin is becoming law. The NFL star collapsed after suffering a cardiac event on the field during a game in January of 2023. A bill backed by Hamlin and signed into law by President Biden this week will help to equip schools with automated external defibrillators — making immediate assistance possible for kids who suffer the sort of cardiac event that Hamlin did. Biden signed the HEARTS Act on Monday.
