Blair County Commissioners voted unanimously on Tuesday to adopt a budget for this year that includes an 8% increase in property taxes. With this latest tax increase, the owner of property assessed at $100,000 will see an increase of slightly more than $36.00 in their annual bill, but that does not include those taxes which are levied by school districts and local municipalities. The county budget also includes slightly more than two-million dollars for to-be-determined wage increases. The budget also includes money from the capital reserve fund that could be used to pay for land for a new county prison. The budget for this year comes in at slightly more than 53-million dollars.
