The Bishop Guilfoyle Academy has canceled the remainder of its junior high boys basketball season due to a hazing incident. According to the Altoona Mirror, the team played its final game on December 17th. There are unconfirmed reports the hazing incident may have resulted in the removal of a coach from the program. In a statement to the Altoona Mirror, Principal Michael Cacciotti said the administration made the difficult decision to cancel the remaining games for the season. He said, “Sports is a privilege, and BG maintains high standards for each team and participant. Accountability for these standards is important.”
