There is no word on the cause of a large weekend fire in Indiana County. Nine fire companies were dispatched to engage a barn fire Saturday afternoon at a property on Wilgus Road. The Commodore Volunteer Fire Department says the cold temperatures made it difficult for crews to refill their tanks with water because a nearby pond had frozen over — though they were eventually able to break through the ice, and temps were so low that their gear started to freeze. No injuries were reported from the fire.
