A Huntingdon County woman is facing animal cruelty charges after she allegedly encouraged her two children to repeatedly strike a possum that was on her porch, and later was killed with a kitchen knife. State police have charged 47-year-old Brenda Jefferis of Alexandria with animal cruelty, for an incident that occurred last Wednesday, and was caught on camera. Police responded to the Alexandria home after they received a report of cruelty to animals. State police say Jefferis killed the animal with a kitchen knife after an extended period of time.
