With the cold weather upon us, officials are encouraging Pennsylvania residents who need help covering energy bills to take advantage of assistance initiatives. The federally-backed LIHEAP program can help some residents cover a portion of their heating costs. Households earning at or below 150 percent of the federal poverty level can qualify. Applications can be submitted through the DHS section of P-A-dot-gov.
