Altoona City Council has hired a new manager after the retirement of the city’s last manager. The new manager is Christopher McGuire, who is finishing up his position as a city administrator in Clyde, Texas. McGuire is also a 35-year Army vet. McGuire will be working under a two-year contract that extends until February of 2027, with a base salary of $150,000. McGuire will be taking over for Omar Strohm who served in that position until January of last year.
