If employment figures are any indication, business is booming in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania labor-and-industry officials say the state’s unemployment rate increased by one-tenth of a percent last month, slightly increasing the overall rate to 3.6 percent. The latter figure compares positively to the corresponding national unemployment number, which stood at 4.1 percent in December. Meanwhile, jobs rose between November and December in ten of Pennsylvania’s eleven industry supersectors. The largest supersector gain was 53 hundred in education and health services. Leisure and hospitality also reached high job levels in December.
