A fire in Altoona on Tuesday afternoon, has left a family homeless. The fire occurred on the 1500 block of 19th Avenue. According to the Altoona Fire Department, the family was able to escape, and damage to the structure has been estimated at anywhere from 40-75 thousand dollars. It is thought the fire started in the kitchen, and the blaze was quickly brought under control. Cause of the fire is still under investigation.
