Here is a listing of area live music and online music happenings for the weekend and week of Friday, May 28 through Thursday, June 3.
With the recent easing of some COVID-19-related restrictions, more live music venues across the area are beginning to host performances. The listing below includes both area live public shows and online live-streaming shows; keep checking back, as this listing will be updated as new shows are announced.
If you are attending a public show, be aware that seating and admission may be limited due to remaining COVID-19 restrictions, and masks and social distancing may be required. Please be responsible, and respect others’ personal space if they wish to socially distance from other people.
For online performances, if a “virtual tip jar” situation is available during live streams, please consider tipping these performers, and support them during this time when they cannot earn income playing shows at public venues. Websites for these performers are also listed; please consider purchasing their music digitally or via CD, which is another way to SUPPORT LIVE MUSIC!
After kicking off on Thursday evening, the PA Roundhouse Rally concert series continues this weekend with live music both Friday and Saturday. Friday’s entertainment kicks off at 5 p.m. with Felix & the Hurricanes, followed by Shallow 9 at 8 p.m. Since the stage is inside, the music happens rain or shine. Saturday’s entertainment begins at 2 p.m. with Matt Pletcher, who will entertain during the Bacon & Bourbon Fest to benefit Ronald McDonald House. Following at 8 p.m. will be Guns N’Roses tribute group Get Your Guns. Admission for the entire weekend is $15 per person. The PA Roundhouse Rally is a registered 501c3 nonprofit organization that focuses on helping veterans and children’s causes within the Blair County area.
Returning on Saturday after missing 2020 due to COVID-19 is the Westsylvania Jazz & Blues Festival in downtown Indiana. The music starts at 11 a.m.; see the listing below for details on who is performing when. The festival happens rain or shine, and admission is free.
Beyond these two events, lots of other live music opportunities await during Memorial Day weekend, so browse the schedule and make your plans to support live music as part of your holiday weekend.
