Homegrown Rocker Playlist/Recap 6/27/21

Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the June 27 edition of “The Homegrown Rocker,” which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock!

Thanks to our guest on this week’s program – Brandon Valentine, the founder and president of the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall Of Fame (CPMHOF) and Central Pennsylvania Music Awards (CPMA’s). Brandon told us about the Hall Of Fame, its objectives of recognition, support and education for the region’s music community, and the upcoming second CPMA’s presentation and Hall Of Fame induction ceremonies taking place at the Whitaker Center in downtown Harrisburg on July 1. Along the way, we featured music from many of the nominees for the CPMA’s, as well as some of this year’s Hall Of Fame inductees. (For a full listing of nominees, inductees and information about the CPMHOF and CPMA’s, visit the website www.cpmhof.com.)We also updated “Local Music News,” dug a 1995 number from 2021 Central PA Music Hall Of Fame inductees The Badlees and a 1986 tune from 2020 Central PA Music Hall Of Fame inductees The Sharks from the archive for two “Local Music Flashback” features, and reviewed Andy Mowatt’s Frequency Movement’s (AMFM’s) Symphonic Funk Box album in “The Professor’s CD Corner!” (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94’s website, www.q94classicrock.com. Click on “The Professor’s Classroom,” and then scroll down to “Homegrown Rocker Podcast” and look for the four show segments marked with the date, 062721.)
