Here are pictures from Friday (June 25), the second night of the second concert weekend of the PA Roundhouse Rally at Roundhouse Harley-Davidson near Duncansville. With motorcycle events happening around the region this weekend, more folks came out to check out the happenings at the PA Roundhouse Rally this day. Riders took test drives with the Harley-Davidson Demo Fleet, savored food from vendors, plus libations courtesy of the International Bikini Team. And part of the wristband proceeds and ticket sales for the PA Roundhouse Rally’s giveaway of the Harley-Davidson Low Rider motorcycle helped out the Allegheny Township Volunteer Fire Department, as well as local veterans and youth charities. And there was again live music, as popular local rock bands Cotton Mouth and Downshift provided the entertainment.
Leading off, Cotton Mouth performed a variety of classic rock favorites, including tunes from Kenny Wayne Shepherd, ZZ Top, Ted Nugent, Allman Brothers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Rivers, Ramones, Bad Company, Steve Earle, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Doors and more. A few of their highlights included their version of Steve Earle’s “Copperhead Road” (which morphed into “Cotton Mouth Road”), and Kenny’s drum solo during their performance-closing edition of Deep Purple’s “Smoke on the Water.”
Soon after, Downshift cranked up the party with their mix of rock and metal classics spanning the 1980s to today. They filled up the floor area in front of the stage as they did numbers from Smashing Pumpkins, Ghost, Foo Fighters, Billy Idol, Local H, Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Green Day, Poison, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica and more. Some of their highlights included their rocking send-up of Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up,” and toward the end, their three-song Metallica medley of “Enter Sandman” into “King Nothing” and “Am I Evil.”
Again, a fun time was had by all. The pictures include shots of both bands, the Harley Demo Fleet, various shots of folks attending the event, a cicada that visited the Q94 broadcast table and more.
